This Is My Reality...

From 42 weeks pregnant August 2018 to 6 months postpartum February 2019

When I was recently in the dressing room, I was in tears. It was the first time in over 1 1/2 years that I went shopping for jeans since before I was pregnant.

None of my jeans fit at home. I've been rockin' the leggings up until now and figured it's time to buy a new pair of jeans to fit these new wider hips and thicker waist of mine.

However, I didn't realize I'd be trying on jeans for OVER AN HOUR. And still leaving discouraged.

I had to go up 3 pant sizes!! 

I had to buy a size that I've never had to in my life. A double digit size. Just so they would fit semi-comfortably around my belly pooch.

I had THE BIGGEST stack of jeans in that dressing room. Nothing was fitting me right. Even though no one was in the dressing room I was still embarrassed.

Low rise. Mid waist. High waist. Boot cut. Skinny jeans...You name it, I tried it on!

Standing up didn't look so bad. But sitting down on the dressing room stool was a nightmare of comfort as the waistband dug into my stomach and my rolls were hanging over.

"This sucks!!" I said quietly out loud to myself as I peeled off like the 20th pair of jeans in complete frustration.

I stood there in my uncomfortably tight jeans and long sleeve top and I looked at myself in the mirror with my eyes swelling up with tears.


This is my reality.

I lifted up my shirt to see my belly pooch and love handles and let out a really big sigh.....this was my reality. UGH.

I'm 6 months postpartum. Now don't get me wrong, I am so grateful for my super healthy baby boy, but this is my new body image at the moment.

As I stared at myself in the mirror I thought, I can't continue to stay where I am at -- "I have a choice."

I believe... 

....that I can either let my current body image cause me to beat myself up,  feel depressed, not good enough, not deserving, and allow myself to say "the heck with it" and spiral out of control further, and start to hate my body...

OR...I can decide today that I'll LOVE my body with where I'm at. I created life for goodness sake! BUT I'll also decide that I want to make some changes. That I want to improve myself!

I want to FEEL good about the way I LOOK! And that's exactly what I want to do....

I want to make myself a bigger priority than I have been since Titus was born. I've put myself on the back burner and neglected myself and I know I can't keep going on like this.

I want to make a better effort with my workouts and make even smarter choices with my nutrition. I don't want to continue to gain weight and I'm tired of feeling tired all the time.

Q: I’m really out of shape - Will the workouts be too hard?

These workouts are structured for ALL fitness levels. Every good trainer provides modifications for all exercises. It's irresponsible to throw you into extreme workouts right away. That's a recipe for injury, feeling so sore you can't workout the next day, or worse yet - you feel like a failure because you couldn't complete it. That's not my style!

That's why I spent a long time designing these follow along workouts so they are a perfect balance between being easy enough for beginners - and challenging enough for the more advanced to get results. All the workouts are 20 minutes or less and you can go at your own pace.


Q: Do I have to buy supplements?

No. This is not a sales pitch for supplements disguised as a 6 week challenge. I may recommend a few good quality protein powders or other nutritional supplements along the way because I'm asked these questions A LOT. But it's not pushed on you or required to take in order to get great results!


Q: My goal is to tone-up/get stronger/lose baby weight, etc. Will this program work for me?

Definitely! Toned In 20 teaches the basic underlying principles required for a healthy, strong body. This will allow you to reach your goals, whatever they may be.

Q: If I miss a few workouts or even a week for some reason, will I be able to get right back on track without being behind?

Oh my, YES! Girl, STOP the "perfection" mentality, OK? No one is perfect, not even me. If you miss a few workouts along the way, it's OK!! You're not behind at all and it's easy to jump right back on track! Remember - we aren't after perfection, but progress! You got this!


Q: This program sounds “techy”. Do I need to be a computer whiz to participate?

Q: Will the app work on multiple devices?

Q: I don't have Facebook. Is that going to be a problem?

Not a problem at all. You won't be a part of the Toned In 20 private Facebook Group where I'll be answering questions, posting content, and be surrounded by other Challengers for extra motivation and support.

However, I will be emailing most of the extra nutrition/fitness content and weekly nutrition challenges. And if you have questions, just private message me inside the app or email me.
